Is this Lawsons Cypress dead? I bought this young tree in autumn last year. Since it had been kept indoors by seller, I kept it indoors for early part of winter. Noticed at first the needles turned pale green and felt dried out. So I left it outside for remainder of winter which rarely dropped to frost. It turned brown and even though its almost early summer its still same brown. There has been no new growth. Thanks in advance for advice

It's an ex-cypress (as in ex-parrot), definitely dead I'm afraid.

My guess is underwatering killed it.

r.i.p. cypress. indoors not the best for conifers - too dry.

I think bathgate is right. It was not underwatered. But with a woodburner humidity drops extremely low in winter. Thanks for replies
