Hi! I have a rubber plant which is doing great except its started growing sideways more than upright. I'd like it to grow up not sideways so I thought about removing the two pieces top right and bottom right which have grown quite far out. I thought about snapping them off and putting them in water and hoping they grow new roots. Would that be ok?

They are branches. It looks as though they are reaching for the light. Try turning the plant occasionally so it gets the light all round.

Yes, that's the solution.

I would remove the side branch to retain the plants form. They will root in water quite readily.

Thanks a lot. I just chopped 3 branches off, it was quite emotional :-/
