I'd say it was a Japanese Anemone. About 2-3ft tall, slightly felty leaves? This looks like one of the hybrids, so perhaps not so invasive as the common pale pink one I fight a losing battle with all the time! Has roots which go down forever, break off and every piece grows, I spend half my time in the garden trying to keep it under control.
