Aquilegia ? Columbines ?

their botanical name is Aquilegia, but locally they are also called columbines as badfish says.

Local name here is Dratted nuisances (or worse!)
Aquilegia, the name, is derived from the Latin word for eagle (aquila), because the shape of the flower petals.

I quite like the way you never know what colour they are going to be and pull up the colours I don't like. I once had one which adorned Bill Wyman's wedding reception, but that's another story!

Aquilegia, I have many different colours now flowering.
