As Snoopdog says, squash 'em but don't let them see you coming or they will drop and hide.

Squash them and remove the brown mess there are larvae inside squash as well.

Put some white kitchen paper on the soil first before you tackle them so when they drop one can see them then squash the little horrors & the mushy looking brown stuff on the leaves too. :o))
