Is this potato blight? If so, are the tubers edible or do I have to burn the lot including the compost. Thanks in anticipation. ( the container is next to another, will this get afflicted, too?)

Yes I would say that is the beginning of potato blight. Cut off the shaws and burn or put in your wheelie bin. You've caught it early so the potatoes should still be edible. I'd move the container with the blighted potatoes away from the other one and watch them like a hawk! When you empty the container out to get the potatoes bin the compost and really scrub out the container.
