To be honest I thought the same and with you also saying the same I did look on Taylors , its similar do you think the photo has been photo shopped

It looks as if it's been enhanced somehow or other. The colour is a bit strong ...
I only recognised it because I've got one :)

so what is the name of the clematis? seems odd to call it Viola as it is a genus name or have I mis-read it.

Sorry I got it wrong. It is 'Venosa Violacea' ... that's what happens when you are in a rush :(
