my honeysuckle (in the Algarve) in a pot is loosing some leaves (little round ones) still some red-orange flowers though, can I prune the almost empty branches now ? Don't know which lonicera this is.

Usually done Autumn, but if yours is finished flowering and is defoliated, might as well do it now, assuming you don't get harsh, cold winters. Sounds like it needs a bigger pot for its roots.
