Firstly thank you all your feedback in 2014.

My Mum's hydrangea is looking very dead as it sits by the front door. Here it is in the summer now it is crisp, brown and looks ghastly where the lower branches have been badly cut and it has bled so lots of white seepage it looks an eyesore. Any advice please.

All answers will be greatly appreciated

Regards

Did you prune it in autumn? Hydrangeas are not meant to be pruned until early Spring to protect them from the frost. This is the RHS advice on pruning :

well you just have to wait till it recovers... not much you can do now.

They do lose their leaves in winter so the leaves will look dead or more probably have all fallen off. Wait and see what happens when the new growth starts. A photo of theshrub now would have been more helpful than the healthy one!

How do I say thanks?
