inner garden is good there is a free one but I don't know because I've only had it on android, check if its on kindle.

Kindle machines operate using Android, but usually a customized version. Not sure if the Kindle/Amazon app store includes a garden design app though, but it should be possible to download one that is android based from elsewhere.

I would ask the kindle helpdesk, when my ereader was faulty they rang me straight back an were very good.

Amazon kindle have a free garden and landscaping design book in their gardening book list. Is that the kind of thing you want?

I've never understood why you need a programme on a computer to design a garden.

well u could use paper but then again apps are easier and you wont risk a chance of losing it (if you can save it)

No i dont need it but saw the one on shoot gardening where you could fill in the plants you wanted and change them around as much as you like. This gives you a really good idea of what would work, colour and structure wise. I certainly dont want it for the hard landscaping, that has always developed organically in my gardens. It just looked like fun to play around with.
