My second early potato plants have grown really big and are now starting to fall over without having flowered. Have I lost the whole crop ?

Hi Sue and welcome to GoY. I doubt that you have lost the crop, trying lifting just one potato to see what is under it.

I have already harvested my second earlies .. Winston and Belle de Fontenay. Mine never seem to flower, though I gave my father some and his are flowering. I just harvest them as I need them, when they are of an acceptable size.

If you want to find out how big your spuds are (without lifting them) use your fingers to dig around the base of the plant and try to feel/see what state they are in.

How do I say thanks?
