Symphoricaripos variety - bit of a nuisance, frankly, spreads by putting out runners beneath the soil, but is sometimes used for hedging. Good in shady places, but flowers better in sun.

And the stems are like steel rods. My electric hedge trimmer would not touch the thicker stems.

|As Bamboo says it can take over and can easily pop up on the other side of your path. It could well be that the hedge all came form one plant originally. We actually discovered a path we hadn't know was there when we removed some at our last house. It has tiny pink flowers and little snowball berries but it doesn't earn its keep in any but a large shrubby area where a takeover doesn't matter.

How do I say thanks?
