Help. I have brown patches which begin on shoulder of tomatoes a week or so before they ripen. Have asked neighbour who has grown them for years but never seen anything like it. Seems to effect about 3 of 4 on each plant. Any idea? Thank you. Jenny Argyll

Sorry for late reply. Tomato is eventually rotten inside. Perhaps only one tomato per plant rotten. Had a really good yield otherwise

usual cause of brown blotches like these is blight, but you haven't said the tomato plants are affected in any other way. Is the discoloration just on the skin, or is the fruit rotting inside, beneath that area?
