so i was right foxhaven.

yep borage. its leaves taste of cucumber and the young ones add an interesting texture to salads.
use the flowers in drinks/salads rice dishes etc. but pull the black central bit and the green stalk/sepals off. you are then left with blue stars or later in the flowers life pink stars.

Thanks for that everyone - how can you eat the leaves? they are so roughly hairy.

Kennyboy - yes you were but when I looked it up in a book it looked nothing like my plant [useless book]
