problems with onions

the onions have got swollen leaves like leeks they are going to seed and no bulb at the bottom.ihave been told it could be eel worm. can you give me advice on how to deal with this many thanks paul brown

I'm not an onion grower but i believe that once they go to seed there isn't anything you can do to rescue the crop.
There is some useful information about the eelworm on Google - worth a look.
