I'm a tropical Florida gardener, but not a tropical gardener from Florida if that makes sense Valerie?

The reason I say that is that I have some friends in Florida and when I visit them and see what's growing over there I like to grow some of the same things over here in the UK.

It's surprising what will will thrive over here, but having said that we have the same USDA hardy zone as North Florida which is 8, and it's even 9 on the South East coast of England.

I've tried to grow some of the more tender (USDA Zone 10) plants native to Florida in my conservatory. The problem I have is that I obviously can't sustain the high humidity for them without my conservatory rotting from the inside and falling down. LOL.
