I live on the central coast in ca. Where we are in a drought situation, and have 2 tea trees in large planters ( due to soil that is sand). The pink flowered one is doing fine, about 4-5 ft. tall and flowering profusely and looks healthy. However the crimson glory ( 3-4 ft. tall ) that is 10 feet away looks dead. It flowered a few weeks ago and now the leaves have dried up and fallen off. Both get a deep watering weekly. What can I do to avoid the death of the new one I just bought to replace it and what happened?

Possibly move it to a shady spot, increase the watering , check daily, andthe humidity around it , maybe spraying the whole plant daily but not in full sun.
if its dry in the evening water the pot again so its moist overnight, a mulch will help to conserve water too.
