i have got a jasmine plant can i put small plants in the pot around it or will it interfere with the growth

It might slow it a little, but shouldn't do serious damage, as long as its new roomates aren't too vigorous. They may even be beneficial if the new pot is much bigger than the original--companion plants soak up excess water that might otherwise cause root rot.
