hi can anyone help ive uncovered my tree fern to find a orange gunkits really thick in the crown does anyone know what this is and has it died i hope it hasnt only had it 2 years

Doesn't sound good - all you can do is clean it out and see if it grows or not. Unfortunate we had such a bad winter, seems even covered tree ferns haven't coped too well.
