I saved some runner bean pods last year to use the seed this year and on opening them recently, found there were 4 different colours - black, white, mainly black with pale purple bits, and mainly pale purple with black bits. I seem to remember that a few plants last year had white flowers instead of red but I would like to know if they will grow OK. Any ideas?

yes they will grow. the seed comes in all colour ways, just like we do within our own families. They will produce edible pods so plant away. :o)
