What perennials can i grow in a shady window box. Does hostas and ferns need more room as the window box i have is a large one. Any ideas

Cookygirl, unless the box is truly huge, I would look for dwarf varieties or species. Dwarf ferns may be hard to come by, but there are dozens of dwarf hostas, many looking like perfectly proportioned miniatures of their larger cousins.
