i have an Hoya bella and wondered if i could take a cutting has its getting quite big, and does it need repotting into a bigger pot?

I have a hoya carnosa which seems to thrive on neglect!
My book says that a hoya bella will flower in a 5" pot but is better in a 10" hanging basket.
Take 2"-3" cuttings of new shoots in June and root in 50% each peat and sand. It's an old book, not sure what to use instead of the peat, maybe better to use a compost made specifically for cuttings.
Hope this helps.
