I have a 2m high cordyline. I cut the flowers off too soon cause it looked messy, now its got two black dead branches. The remaining two heads are frost damaged but look to be growing. Its all a bit too tall and sparse. If I cut it down to 4ft I'm told it will regrow new heads. Shall I just saw it off at 4ft. Sorry I'm not a gardnener !!

You can cut it back in the way you describe if you like, but there's a risk that either no new growth will appear, or it will shoot direct from the base.

Also, there is no cutting the flowers off too soon: flower removal doesnt hurt the plant at all.

How do I say thanks?
