What can I use to make a garden that is overlooked feel more secluded?

Wiltshire, United Kingdom Gb

I have built our own B&B which is in a modern contemporary style...Now it's time for the garden...What can I use to make a garden that is overlooked (from the bottom and side, but not by next door either side) feel more secluded and a place where guests can sit and relax?

Could you give some more details .......... the size of it, the way it faces (sun direction), type of soil (clay or easy to dig), any existing trees and shrubs and whether you're interested in maintaining plants and the garden in general after you've done the work.

Thank you all so much for your kind responses...
I will post the size and shape of the garden, some detail of soil and conditions and a photo or two if I can at some point tomorrow or Thurs.
Initially, I do like the sound of bamboo and tall grasses, but my good lady is afraid that they might become rather invasive?...Steve
