When should my canna lilies show signs of life and should I repot them each year ? A kind neighbour gave me two large plants which I put in compost and overwintered in the greenhouse but now I am not sure how best to look after them.

Thank you, that is very helpful. Would you suggest pot them into their tubs or just into plantpots and then tubs later on ?

You can put them straight into their tubs if you like - as long as they're in the greenhouse.

If they're in the greenhouse, but not potted up properly, you can do that this month, but keep in them in the greenhouse. Turn them out of whatever they're in, examine the corms - you'll probably find they're large, so break them in half or whatever seems appropriate, pot them up in fresh compost and water, keep warm.
