I wondered if anyone knows of any good resources to look into an Edwardian town house garden? I am re-furbishing a large Edwardian house and it has a super garden wall which I am convinced would have been used in the orginal garden..any comments help would be appreciated

How long's the wall? Box-edged borders, with 'let-ins' to the wall itself where a seat can be placed. Espaliered fruit trees against the wall, gravel paths, and summer perennials to fill the borders with frothing colour . . .
However, it might depend a little on the aspect, the amount of sunshine/good light, to a certain extent the soil type, and the exposure to the north and east which might catch the knees as you rest on the seat early and late in the year.
Have a look at Chris Beardshaw's themed garden at Carisbrooke Castle
