Is everyone all right with St Jude hitting us? It arrived at about 4.45 but it seems to have passed over now - it's just gone 7.

I hope you're all safe and sound with no damage.

I'm glad you said it's over Barbara. I hope it didn't do any damage to your garden or property, and didn't cause any floods for you. I didn't know it had a name !
It didn't come here at all. I was awake most of the night, and heard rain beating on the roof, but no worse than usual ... and there were no winds at all here.
I hope people living where it hit worst are all right.

Ten to nine and it is still quite blustery here in the Chilterns, but the clouds have broken up and the sun is shining. Not looking forward to taking daughter to work this morning, lots of reports of tree-blocked roads and railway lines, surprised the power lines have survived. Hope St Jude hasn't caused too much damage elsewhere.

One pot camelia on its side - a branch down across the road - howling winds down the chimneys but nice and sunny now.

Trees feel around me at about 4.30 this morning. Some very large indeed. Roads blocked left right and centre. I ran in to work as normal and it was quite a thrill. My road was totally blocked, I had to climb over and under to get out. Although I love it, I am aware of hardship and worse for others.

Quite a lot of damage around here, my neighbour had a large branch come down off his oak tree onto his car roof and the roof of his shed blown off and we have lots of smaller branches scattered across the garden, quite a few from a neighbour's conifer trees. I had to go out in the car this morning to collect my elderly neighbour's prescription and saw three large trees which had fallen, one across the road which was being cut up by a tree surgeon.

We also had no electricity between 7am and 2pm.

I've been thinking about you on and off all day Spritz, as although the wind missed us there has been a lot of heavy rain. So glad you weren't flooded! (I was keeping my fingers crossed for you...)

Just found out that my husband's cricket pavillion roof blew off in the storm. Good job someone checked as it is in a remote place.

Glad to hear you are still in a piece Spritz. Glad everyone else is safe too.

We had a lot of rain yesterday, and the stream is getting higher, but I have my fingers crossed.

We all seem to be safe, unlike the poor folk who lost their lives. Thank goodness it wasn't worse! At one stage they were saying it might be like 1987 - no thanks!

It is still a bit windy with sporadic sprays of rain and showers here in Torquay today. Sun is shining and a few adjacent homes have been fixing roofs and fences damaged by the winds Sunday but the sea looks calm...Take care everyone. Glad you are all okay.
