what plant are the seeds from please Steve, if you are not sure if they are seeds a photo may help

Try sowing some. If the seeds are very small just cover them with vermiculite, keep them in a warm place and see what happens. Keep some in reserve for when you find out what the plant was. But remember that not all plants produce viable seed even if the stuff looks like seed. Especially if it's from an exotic place and didn't have a pollinater.
