I live in Durbanville. The soil in my garden is clay. Ive had Conifer trees removed from an area and I want to get the soil fertile as nothing grows there. What should I be doing?

Add as much organic material as you can get hold of. Animal, plant remains, it does not matter. That will increase the fertility for you by feeding the soil. Test for acidity and add Lime according to the results. That will help the tiny clay particles clump together (flocculation). The conifer needles will have increased the acidity of the soil.
