Just spotted a plant which is about to flower but I don't recognize it. About 14 ins high with a leaf like the African Marigold but with a flower spike. Any idea what it might be?

Might be 'bear's breeches' . . . can't remember the Latin name, but it begins with 'A' ?! Acanthus perhaps . . .

I don't think its Acanthus because the leaves aren't shiny, but the flower spike is like it. Can you put another pic on when the flowers open Goldengirl?
