I would pot them up and prune them back.I kept some in my dg greenhouse last year but lost them the year before..

Take some cuttings, put about three in pot and when it gets colder keep them indoors. I did this last year and they took very well, I also potted the outdoor ones up and kept them in my unheated greenhouse, cover them with fleece in the winter. Thats if you have a greenhouse, if not bring them indoors.
