I have never grown apricots, let alone from seed, but I would leave well alone. It seems happy enough and will branch in its own good time, it may need to be potted on into a bigger pot before that happens.
Apricots are usually grown on grafted plants, ie. the root stock determines the size and vitality of the fruiting wood. It will be interesting to see how your plant develops and how well it fruits, but this may be a long term project!
