Golden Showers healthy climbing roses bought from B&Q.

I bought 2 from B&Q as this was only place local that had them in stock and I wanted them to compliment my Graham Thomas Honesuckle.

Sadly now they are in bloom the shades of yellow are 2 different shades.

It does look as a wrong label tag has been put on .

And when they are not in bloom when you buy you do think you are buying both the same.

I have taken photos and want to send by email to B&Q but cant find an email for them .

Can anyone help me.

Hi Kath, I've tried to find an e-mail address for you, but all I can come up with is on the b&q website, where it says, "contact us", and then it isn't really contacting anyone, and you have to fill out a quite lengthy questionare, sorry I can't be of any more help, Derek.

If you look at the bottom of their web homepage www.diy.com you'll see a link to Contact Us. It leads to an online form, which asks for details of the problem and your name, address & contact details. I suggest you use that in the first instance, telling them that you can provide photographs.

There is also a customer services phone number (local rates) but I suspect that the web form would be the best first contact.

Good luck!

Thanks already done that they are not really keen to show any email

Much prefer to send photos if all else I shall dig up the roses and take them to the B&Q site.

As 1 is the golden showers which goes well with the Graham Thomas Honeysuckle and the other is an apricot colour.

How about taking photos and a flower from each (rather than the whole plant)?

I'm not sure what B&Q are like when it comes to refunds on plants, they can be a bit difficult over things where the packaging has been opened.

I am a distance from B&Q so if going down this route would uplift my roses.

It's always a problem when the colour is completely wrong, my local garden centre is pretty good about this but don't think B&Q would be. If it was meant to be pink then they may refund you but if it is yellow-ey, I bet they won't!Be good to know for all of us how you got on ?

they might get away with the yellow-ey argument if they were both the same shade of peach on the basis that colour printing/internet is not the real thing. But if they are different colours to each other then one (or both) has been incorrectly labelled - and it's not as if Golden Showers could be mistaken for a peach rose. From what I recall it is quite definitely yellow (no shrinking violet!)

B&Q has not replied to my mail I sent them Urbanite.

Sorry, but wouldnt it be easier and less hassle to just start again, and get another two plants ?

13 Sep, 2013

No it would not be easier its the principle I bought and paid for 2 same roses that I wanted as this was the only place local that had.

And its worth complaining as the said B&Q phoned me to day and they are posting out voucher in loo of an apology.

Hope you haven't consigned Peach Rose to the compost heap - it's not her fault that she was wrongly labelled. Will she look good elsewhere in the garden?

Are there any likely looking cuttings on the yellow rose?

Hi Urbanite no she still is on the arch .

I may have another area to plant her if not can recyle her to a friends garden or pass to walled garden.

I have never tried to take rose cuttings.
