There is no photo

There is a photo, but not a plant I have seen before.

There was not a photo earlier - it is Egyptian Star Flower aka Pentas lanceolata

Yes a Penta they grow very well here in LA.
Penda is 5 in Greek.

@Worthy - I rent a place in Portugal that has really good landscaping and I take cuttings - it is bedding here and does not get as big (say 8 inches or so?) as the Med alas and the flowers, it is a shrub over there. Roots well in water.
