A form of Dianthus is what it looks like to us.

What are the leaves like? as this reminds me of my Centaurea montana (Berg Centaurie)

Dianthus arenarius is the nearest I can find to this.

I also think a dianthus. difficult to say which one. how wide/big is the flower [cm or inches]

Thank you all very much. I have taken a few more pictures of it where it is growing in the pot outside. Very helpful ,Seaburngirl, it is quite small,about 4-6 cm.

Dianthus monspessulanus, I think that is.
