had a hydrangea for over ten years no flowers since purchased, is there anything I can do to get flowers?

We got no flowers on the few we had as the growth on which it flowers was always burnt off by a cold wind which we get in April.
Change it for one of the H. paniculata types.

1.Buy a new one.
2. Don't prune it when it dies down in winter, or in spring.
