Hello all I have just cut the Rowan tree down as a last resort tried all ideas,can anyone tell me how to kill the roots.

You don't need a paving slab though - you can just tie the plastic round with tight string or cord. Sorry you lost the tree in the end.

It was a hard slog but could not save it the garden looks bare without it.

Here too Pam. Come to think of it the plastic OK used when he did this actually did blow off on two of the stumps.

You can buy a tree stump killer that does work if you follow the instructions.....its a while ago but I think you drill holes in the stump then add the chemical, its quite toxic so care needed, then cover it, not sure now but I think with thick plkastic and a paving slab!
Best to look in a garden centre......
