Please can anyone ID this plant? Seen in an Open Garden yesterday, and grown by an elderly lady who would be delighted to have it named.

It looks like one of the Cyrtanthus not sure which one maybe Cyrtanthus brachysiphon.

I'd have said an amaryllis cultivar, although it's a bit early. I had a quick look to see which one but as there are quite a few I sort of gave up! Perhaps 'Johannesburg'?

My first thought too Worthy, but aren't the leaves a bit too narrow?

A lady I know suggested Rhodophiala bifida. Any thoughts, as the Cyrtanthus seems to be tender, and this plant lives outside all year round, in a pot.

I have a hardy amaryllis it looks the same and is in bud at the moment. It lives outside in a pot all year round

That's interesting. I'll have to tell her there are several options as to what it might be, then.

How do I say thanks?
