Can you identify these shrubs for me please? Will the be ok in a sunny location? How big will they grow and when should I cut them back? As you can tell I'm a novice at this gardening lark but I'm determined to make something of my garden! Many thanks.

They're all growing downwards....are they trailing ? lol

All look like different varieties of Hebe to me in which case, no pruning is required and height will depend on variety....but none of them are brutes !!!!

Most hebes like the sun and can be kept in shape by pruning in the spring. Welcome to GoY too.

Thank you, what a friendly site. Not sure if I'm finding my way around it but thanks to all for the welcoming messages, I feel encouraged...
I have a decent sized garden but it was basically a football ground for my two boys growing up, the attraction was that there were no flowers to damage! They've gone now, pretty much, and so has my excuse so I've decided to tackle it head on this year, maybe bit off more than I can chew but only time will tell.

I'm not certain who can read this, is it only replying to seaburngirl?

Once again many thanks for all your help all of you!
