something is scratching the moss up all around my front yard at night. Its just where the moss is located. No holes or burroughs. I live in Washington so no hedge hogs? any ideas?

Its usually birds that scratch the moss at this time of the year to find the insects underneath.

I've seen blue tits taking moss from my garden to use for nesting material.
