I have fitted a soaker hose around my border but I wondered how close the hose needs to be to the plants themselves in order to get even watering. Some plants have the hose running directly underneath them whereas others it is 6-8 inches away from the plant-will the water still reach their roots?

I hope you find that you need it this summer!! The water should reach the roots, which will grow towards the moist soil nearby.
