Hi Brymac,
Yes and no to this question,
I do put the kitchen waste on the compost heap and this includes tea bags,
But im the only one in our house that drinks coffee so i only have one mug a day (breakfast) and its the proper filtered coffee so i keep the coffee laft overs including the used filtered coffee in an old tupperware bottle for a bout a week and then i fill with water shake it all about and use this for the base of small shrubs or the hedge,
it acts as a sort of tonic for the roots,
waste not want not.

I make compost tea every year. I fill a 5 gallon bucket with water. I then take a hessian bag and fill it with half rotted compost, put that in the bucket for about 3 weeks, stiring it up every day so that it gets oxygen...after about 3 weeks it starts to smell fairly strong....now is the time to use it...I dilute the mixture about 10 to 1.....one part mixture 10 parts water. Go to one of the search engines or youtube to find out more.
