My laurel bush is dropping its green leaves but it looks like someone has cut them off at the base of the leaves with scissors .any suggestions otherwise its very healthy .

do the ends of the leaves look slightly corky? if yes then this is natural leaf fall. However if they do look chewed then it sounds like a pest. Could be insects, birds or squirrels.

I think any evergreen shrub will loose some leaves at this time, and then will grow some new ones in the spring, otherwise it would get bigger and bigger!
