apperantly this deciduous tree grows quickly but has a short lifespan,so I doubt that anyone would concider grafting it on to dwarf stock,

All things being relative Cliffo, it still usually exceeds 60 years! Maybe short for most trees but hey, that's virtually the life of many people lol.

Some sources state 35-40 years......

I think that there is a preservation order on me. lol
