If I move a cox apple tree. Will it die its only a small one

As long as you do it soon before the tree gets really growing again and take as big a root ball with it you should be ok. Give it a good watering before you move it and a good one when it is replanted.

And keep it well watered through the summer even if there is rain.

Move it NOW and take a large root ball. My Cox is already in bud, i.e. out of dormancy.
