Euonymus japonicus microphyllia albo variegatus...I have a lovely specimen of this plant bought this Spring...is it too late to take cuttings? If not, HOW do I do so? Mine is a beautiful shape ...green and WHITE...not yellow! Is it a true specimen if it is edged with white?

I haven't been able to find another one locally. All are green and YELLOW..is this the "norm" or have I dreamt this along the way?
Thank you in advance for your help...you're always so ready with answers!

No, there's two versions with slightly different names - one is white variegated, the other yellow. I'll have to go and look them up now, one for the name, the other for the cuttings info!

Actually, there's 3 versions - one's plain green, called Microphyllus, green and yellow is Microphyllus Pulchellus (syn aureus) and the white edged one is Microphyllus Albovariegatus (syn variegatus). Semi ripe cuttings with a heel in Autumn is all my book says - presumably into a sharp soil mix in a cold frame?

Thanks, Bamboo! "Albo" in latin means "white" so I have been very confused when seeing all these yellow edged ones! I need to go and look at semi-ripe cuttings now...to refresh my memory! I will have to do all this on the RHS course but I am still at plant cells and plant formation! Incidentally, I got an "A" on my first assignment...wahay!

Well done - I found quite a lot of that really interesting.

Thank you both. Yes,it is an interesting course but I am finding it quite difficult to fit everything in to my week! LOL Perhaps now the weather is turning wintry, there will be MORE time to study and LESS time/inclination to go out! I am nearly finished Assignment 2 ...but have 12 in total!
