Can anyone tell me what the name of this plant is? I've had it quite a while but suddenly the rosettes have started to detach and I can't see why.

Echeveria, Firecracker, moulded wax, hen and chickens or painted lady. Take your pick. The chickens are your new plants. They root easily in a sandy compost, especially in spring after they have dried out for a week. Go easy on the watering. It likes a rest period in the winter.

If the whole plant is coming away from the compost then check for Vine weevil grubs in the pot.
