Am I mad to think I could grow aCarpentaria on a west wall in Morayshire, Scotland. I saw two in the garden at Floor Castle in Kelso and thought how beautiful they were

I think its worth a shot - facing west or south is best for these, and with a wall behind them. I'd be inclined to plant in the spring though, get them settled and bit bigger before they have to face a winter.

I have two growing in a southwest corner of my garden in northwest leicestershire.
temperature dropped to -10c during last winter. They were both fine

If you can cover it with fleece during the winter as well, it would stand an even better chance.
I planted a semi tender shrub against a south facing wall here in East Berkshire last spring and pegged fleece over it last autumn. It survived
-8C without any problems. An established carpenteria beside it had no problems either so give it a try

How do I say thanks?
