My Nephew took this photo of a plant he has growing in his garden in Devon. I don't recognize it and was wondering if anybody does. It looks a little like Dandelion flower but its the wrong colour because I thought Dandelions where only yellow.

I do know what this is, I brought some back from Devon in an attempt to grow it here, but no luck - but my filing clerk's on strike in my brain and I can't remember its name - it's a wild plant, might be Hawksbit or something, I need to look it up in the book....

Is this what some people call 'Fox and cubs'??

Yup Bamboo spot on and an invasive weed where we live :-)

Yes Spritz

Invasive is understating it, lol. It runs and seeds everywhere, a nightmare when it mixes with other perennial plants.

B made the HUGE mistake of actually putting a plant in the wild area of our previous garden... so far as I know it is still there in spite of being weeded out god knows how many times lol

And yet it wouldn't take at all here in west London, and I tried really hard! Sounds like its just as well it didn't grow.

Different soil conditions I guess

thank you to everybody who replied to my question. Apparently my nephew has quite a lot of it growing in the garden of the house they have recently moved into - hence I guess because it is so invasive! I can now warn him about its nature of "over taking" and perhaps he can persuade his wife (who loves it) to eradicate at least some it!!

How do I say thanks?
