Care for a substantial Trailing abutilon in my garden

I would like to know how to care for this plant. I have it in my garden and it rather leggy and prone to aphids

It grows up a wall and is quite tree like,unfortunately it is rather leggy and we are not sure how to attack it. The plant has been in its present position for many years.
